Hanks Anuku, a veteran Nollywood actor, will make his big screen debut in the latest version of the comic classic ‘Aki Na Ukwa.’

The actor, who is known for his mafia roles and fascinating accent, was just announced as the newest cast member for the upcoming remake, which is planned to hit theaters on Dec 17, 2021.

The Stephen Oluboyo-directed film, directed by Biodun Stephen of ‘Breaded Life,’ follows two naughty brothers as they struggle to forge a life for themselves and, by chance, fall into the fame and fortune they have always desired thanks to social media. This ushers them into a world filled with joys, pressures, lies, deception, and hatred.

Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme will reprise their roles as naughty twin brothers in Aki and Pawpaw, alongside Toyin Abraham, Anita Asuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Uti Nwachukwu, Stan Nze, MC Lively, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim, and Chioma Okafor from the original film.

In August, founder producer Charles Okpaleke revealed the goal to “create an orchestration of incisively humor that would resound with everyone,” and the news of the new project made headlines.

Chris Odeh, Mimi Bartels, and Agozie Agwu are the producers of ‘Aki and Pawpaw.’
