The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained 12 suspected online fraudsters in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Wilson Uwujaren, a spokesman for the EFCC, revealed the operation in a statement on Friday.

The suspected con artists were apprehended in Ibadan’s Alapata and Awotan neighborhoods.

The offenders were apprehended when intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related crimes surfaced.

The police seized forged documents and other tools that were allegedly utilized in the crimes.

They also confiscated a Toyota Corolla, as well as sophisticated phones and laptops, according to Uwujaren.

Following the conclusion of the inquiry, the suspects will be charged in court.
